Soccer games will be played rain or shine.
Let's face it, Bakersfield gets hot!

Keep the participants safe by having them drink plenty of fluids. Avoid soda's and high sugar sports drinks.  Instead choose low sugar drinks that replenish sodium and potassium, or have some pretzels with your water.  Most important eat plenty of fruits and vegetables to help keep your system ready to play.

A game will not be cancelled because of rain if the field is still in playable condition.  The referee may suspend or terminate a match.  The regional commissioner or a duly designated representative is the only person authorized to cancel a game.  Such action, if needed, will be taken at the earliest possible time.  A canceled game may be rescheduled only if it is a U14 or U19 division game.

One form of weather that will cause a match to be terminated immediately, is lightning.  When the first stroke of lightning is observed by any official or board member, the fields will be cleared.  The decision to continue or terminate play lies with the Board Members

We play in the fog unless the center referee can't see the goalposts from the center of the field!

A "Health Advisory" may be called during poor air quality episodes by the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District.  When an advisory is called, everyone should avoid prolonged vigorous outdoor exercise.  Sensitive people should avoid all outdoor activity.  Parents may check the forecast in the newspaper or call the district's toll free number 1-800-SMoG-INFO (1-800-766-4463) to get the latest air quality report.  If a health advisory is issued, it will be the parents' responsibility to determine if their child should play.
