  The 17 Laws of the Game for soccer are among the shortest set of rules of any sport. FIFA (Federation International Football Association) Laws are adapted for use by the AYSO organization. FIFA allows some modifications to the Laws for players under 16 years of age. The modifications deal with the following subjects:  
 

  • Size of the field of play

  • Size, weight, and material of the ball

  • Width between the goalposts and height of the cross bar from the ground

  • Duration of the periods of play

  • Substitutions
